  • Don’t you have a shorter test?
  • Can I take the test online?
  • Is it essential that I take the aptitude; I just want to know my Childs interest?
  • Why use paper when online is here?

These are some of the regularly asked questions. Most parents, even children feel that they need shorter test, quick results and accurate answers. True, we are in the times of technology and digitization, but we cannot forget that it is not all inclusive. The orders can be placed online, but the food has to be eaten physically; the movie tickets can be booked online, but one needs to go to the theatre to watch it, the appointment can be taken online, but the doctor has to physically check the patient—it is as simple as this.

The tests have to be administered in controlled a environment, by a professionally qualified psychologist and need to have the relevant norms. With the mushrooming of careers, it is essential that we assess a child on all accounts and then take a holistic decision. The next course of action will depend a lot on the reports generated. We cannot overlook any aspect before deciding the course. Yes, it is college / course is not the end of the world, but one needs to understand that the right use of time and money while one is planning to pursue formal education.

The assessments used for career decision making should not be compared to the HR assessments available [since assessments are widely used in organizations now for various purposes], we are dealing with teenagers, who are about to enter the world of career and who in a transition phase. It makes sense to invest 4-5 hrs if it is going to ensure that you are on the right path for the next 10 – 15 years [not to forget saving money!!].
